Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Designs, develops and engineers customer facing hardware products. Collaborates directly and independently with industrial design, marketing, manufacturing and technology groups to build product-level definition. Sets specifications and requirements of the physical product that meet the design, feature, innovation, operational and financial goals of the product. Coordinates and manages integration of mechanical and kinematic structures, advanced materials development, and electro-mechanical subsystems including PCB/flex, antenna, sensors, magnets and modules including product level tradeoffs. Produces and validates mass production capable design, by coordinating hardware, core technology, reliability, operations, automation, quality, marketing and vendor partners. Provides leadership and direction of design activities through all stages of the product life-cycle, from concept definition through production release and end of life. Responsible for project team leadership – providing technical direction and review throughout the new product development process – as well as interviewing, hiring, and managing employees, including partnering with the employee and team members for sustained technical and professional development. International Travel Required 20%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $228,100 - $342,800/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechatronic Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

  • 3 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:

  • 3D CAD and 2D CAD tools to create manufacturing parts.

  • Performing design for assembly (DFA) and design for manufacturability (DFM) assessments to refine design solutions.

  • Creating and releasing technical drawings for prototyping and mass production.

  • Use analytical tools to refine designs prior to release.

  • Conduct failure analysis using data collected on advanced instruments.

  • Utilize materials engineering principles to design material-based solutions conducive to mass production.

  • Parse and synthesize large datasets to identify issues and proposed solutions.

  • Lead the end-to-end design and engineering integration of complex sub-systems involving multiple customer-facing features.
