Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Collaborate with algorithm and framework teams to integrate AR/VR algorithms for the Apple Vision Pro, following best practice software development processes and by optimizing for real-time performance. Lead the design of C++/Metal GPU framework to reduce encoding bandwidth for algorithm verification and future-proofing integration tests by replicating hardware transformations. Writing unit tests to validate design. Architect low-light mitigation framework and prior-augmentation algorithm for hand-occlusion using Objective-C++/Metal to improve algorithm metrics and enhance user experience. Work on cutting-edge technology to integrate state-of-the-art algorithms that enable a high-quality user experience across a range of tentpole use cases and applications. Collaborate with software and hardware engineers across different development teams (e.g. camera engineering, drivers/OS, computer vision & graphics, software frameworks, etc.) for bringup of new hardware platforms and prototypes. Design and maintain APIs, benchmark and optimize code to improve performance, refining implementations and delivering high-quality production code. Debugging and triage of issues on new and existing platforms. Contribute to unit tests, code-reviews, as well as architectural reviews. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 - $264,200/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.

  • Education and/or experience must include the following skills:

  • Using C and C++ to work on multi-language codebases.

  • Using modern languages such as Swift, Python or Rust.

  • Using classical and Deep Learning approaches to solve problems in computer vision such as classification, segmentation, super-resolution, 3d-reconstruction.

  • Using 3d math and linear algebra to implement features and debug problems in computer vision or computer graphics.

  • Working with computer vision libraries such as OpenCV, scikit-image, etc.

  • Using machine learning libraries such as Pytorch or Tensorflow to train and validate Deep Learning networks.

  • Using tools like TensorRT for real-time performance on hardware to optimize machine learning solutions.

  • Using Metal, OpenCL or CUDA to set up graphics or compute processing pipelines and kernels using the GPU and debugging their correctness and performance.

  • Image processing, performing pre- and post-processing on images for algorithm data-flows.

  • Writing unit and functional tests for new and existing software.

  • Finding and fixing bugs in existing production code-bases.

  • Writing software to interact with low-level system apis or drivers to control hardware functionality.

  • Using TCP/UDP communication between devices to write software using low-level networking.

  • Utilizing networking concepts like routing, DNS, and P2P networking.
