The Global Product Cost Management Team drives analytical support for product cost decisions on current and new hardware products.
This position will work closely with various business partners to develop, interpret, and project the cost of producing products. The role also covers ad-hoc cost analysis and process improvement projects. Candidate will present to Senior Management at product cost reviews and lead discussions including key drivers for product cost movement.
The candidate will partner closely with OPD, Operations, SDM, and Procurement to determine costs and supply chain strategy. Key downstream partners include Business Management, Sales Finance and other Operations/Finance teams supporting decisions throughout the product development cycle.
The ideal candidate must possess and demonstrate strong communication skills, the ability to understand a vast amount of details, the willingness to challenge certain cost assumptions, and ability to implement new processes or significant enhancements to existing processes.
This individual should be action oriented, proactive, hands-on, inquisitive, and organized. This role provides an excellent opportunity to learn about the key drivers and issues related to Apple's products and supply chain, and to interface with senior Operations and Finance management.
Description
Lead efforts to integrate tightly with critical operations groups to provide cost trends, analyze key drivers of cost changes, and support for cost reduction efforts
Evaluate cost impacts of changes in product design and supply chain (i.e., cost, supplier mix, volumes)
Ownership of sophisticated models and financial analysis to validate, interpret, track and communicate product cost impacts.
Create process for measuring cost over time through design of metrics and comparison to key targets
Present to Senior Management at product cost reviews and lead discussions on key drivers for product cost movement
Other ad hoc requests related to the supply chain and product cost.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in finance or related discipline
5+ years related finance/accounting experience
Preferred Qualifications
Strong attention to detail
Advance proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Excellent communication skills
Tech industry experience and familiarity with SAP/Tableau are a plus

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $133,900 and $201,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
