American Express National Bank is American Express’ U.S. banking operation, representing more than 60% of the company’s revenues through consistent payments, financing, and savings products. Led by the Chief Operating Officer, AENB HQ drives the administration of programs and services provided by AENB, in partnership with Bank affiliates and executive officers. In addition, the team plays an enterprise role in driving greater consistency, effectiveness and efficiency across the first line via the AENB COO Office’s Strategic Planning, Control Management, Program Management and Governance functions.

The Enterprise Control Management team within AENB operates as a Center of Excellence to serve as a central support hub for all first-line control management teams throughout the enterprise and be a key connection point with the second-line Global Risk & Compliance (GRC) teams.

How will you make an impact in this role?

The Senior Manager of Enterprise Data Analytics will assist the Director in executing analytics and developing comprehensive reporting across Lines of Business (LOBs) to enable a holistic view across the Enterprise for trends and emerging themes.

This role will focus on gathering, analyzing, and preparing data to produce and aggregate 1st Line of Defense (1LoD) risk reports. The Senior Manager will ensure the quality and consistency of these reports while providing actionable insights for risk management. They will also be responsible for related coordination of change management activities (communications, plans to socialize and vet, solicit feedback and drive collaboration across function and businesses, including control management and second line of defense).

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist the Director in performing analytics and developing reporting across LOBs to provide a holistic view across the Enterprise for trends and emerging themes.

  • Gather, analyze, and report data across 1LoD, overseeing the production and aggregation of 1LoD risk reports, including testing and monitoring results.

  • Support the coordination of aggregate 1LoD reporting to the ORMC, ERMC, Board of Directors, and Senior Management on Operational Risk (OR) topics, ensuring alignment with the VP’s responsibility for developing enterprise-wide reporting frameworks.

  • Partner across the ECM team to coordinate and drive robust change management activities, including communications, obtaining buy-in, receiving inputs and removing roadblocks, as relevant.

  • Monitor KRIs and other related metrics and develop/provide reporting and analytics to inform an overall view of 1LoD risks and trends.

  • Ensure quality reporting tools are utilized; define key terms and reports to inform a consistent approach across Business Units (BUs).

  • Aggregate and QC reporting across all sources (i.e., single source of truth) for 1LoD risk/control reporting and analytics.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4 years of experience in data analytics, reporting, and risk management within a financial services context.

  • Extensive experience with data analysis tools and platforms.

  • Experience in supporting transformation and change initiatives within an organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, Data Analytics, or a related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc) or certifications are advantageous.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills within a matrix organization, including working with client-facing businesses, Global Risk & Compliance, Technology, Legal (GCO), Finance, Global Services Group, and Internal Audit.

  • Proven ability to identify mission-critical areas in an internal controls framework and prioritize work accordingly.

  • Experience working with or leading a team, both locally and internationally.

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Strong consultation, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills; ability to understand complex challenges and linkages and articulate them into actionable plans.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
