As part of CEG, Talent Acquisition (TA) sources and hires top talent for American Express around the world. The function supports early career, experienced, and executive hiring, as well as our New to Blue onboarding experience.

We are seeking a strategic and execution-focused Senior Project Manager to lead high-impact initiatives across Talent Acquisition in support of the Colleague Experience Group strategy and evolving business needs. This role will drive the delivery of enterprise talent priorities by connecting strategy to execution across TA programs and partnerships. As an initial focus, this leader will oversee a critical enterprise project to evolve Workforce Talent Planning—ensuring the organization builds and sustains the skills needed for future growth. The ideal candidate brings strong program leadership, stakeholder influence, and the ability to translate strategy into scalable talent solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end project management for strategic TA initiatives, with an initial focus on advancing Workforce Talent Planning capabilities.

  • Partner with senior stakeholders cross-functionally to align project planning with long-term enterprise priorities.

  • Establish project governance, milestones, success metrics, and reporting to ensure transparency and accountability.

  • Identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities, proactively driving solutions to maintain momentum and impact.

  • Drive the execution of critical projects via tracking progress, escalating any issues, presenting and aligning solutions, and acting at pace.

  • Create compelling presentations and communications that clearly articulate strategy, progress.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years of project or program experience, within HR, Talent Acquisition, or workforce strategy.

  • Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept through execution.

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including experience working with senior leaders.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategic objectives into structured plans, deliverables, and measurable outcomes.

  • Experience with workforce planning, talent strategy, or skills-based initiatives.

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to synthesize insights into clear, compelling narratives.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint (executive-level presentations), Excel (data analysis, pivot tables, modeling), Word (documentation), and SharePoint (collaboration and project coordination.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within a Talent Acquisition Center of Excellence or similar strategic function.

  • Familiarity with skills-based workforce planning, talent intelligence, or labor market analytics.

  • Experience with Oracle Fusion and Oracle Recruiting Cloud.

  • Experience building or scaling talent products, frameworks, or operating models.

  • PMP, Agile, or other project management certification.

  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a high degree of ambiguity.

  • Exposure to emerging skill domains such as AI/ML, digital product management, or risk and compliance.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $103,750.00 to $174,750.00 annually bonus benefits
