Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Research, design, develop, or test automation, intelligent systems, smart devices or industrial systems control and create mechanical design documents for parts, assemblies, or finished products. Design, develop and maintain fully automated testing and reporting solutions for system-level validation of hardware and software. Design, implement, and maintain automation infrastructure and frameworks using Python. Create, modify, and execute automated test cases to support new and existing hardware designs and software user interface features. Create mechatronic or robotic solutions for external interaction with Apple products utilizing robotic arms and actuators. Use sensors and microcontrollers to create custom external validation systems for Apple product testing. Design CAD models and 3D print parts, tools, and rigs to create custom automation solutions. Create automation tools for test execution and data analysis from automated using Python. Perform in-depth failure analysis of test data identifying, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends using statistical tools from Python and data visualization dashboards. Debug device issues and collect logs and configuration settings using Terminal, shell scripts & CLI commands. Collaborate closely with software, hardware, and engineering to design tests and fix issues detected during testing to improve testing processes and ensure robust testing scripts. Document issues and defects using a bug tracking system, and work closely with software developers and hardware engineers to resolve issues. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 - $214,500/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

• Experience and/or education with each of the following skills is required:

• Utilizing open-source electronics platform including Arduino, microcontrollers, sensors, and actuators.

• Utilizing scripting languages including Python to write automated tests and data analysis tools.

• Performing Linear Algebra for developing robotic motions and transformations.

• Using Machine learning and computer vision to develop external monitoring of consumer electronics.

• Utilizing functional, virtual prototypes of three-dimensional objects including CAD & 3D printing to design, develop and actualize mechanical fixtures for interaction with physical devices.

• Performing Data Modeling and Analysis to identify regressions and trends using statistical analysis tools including Python and Matlab.

• Utilizing Object Oriented programming including C for code development.

• Testing consumer electronics and developing hardware test plans.

• Physical prototyping, including soldering and machining to produce and assemble testing fixtures.

• Designing, building and maintaining web interfaces and databases for data visualization using Python, Django and SQL.
