Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Develop NAND flash management software in C. Design system architecture to create new functionality to support new hardware and improve the reliability of storage systems. Measure and optimize software performance to achieve product goals. Debug storage-related issues across hardware, drivers, and applications. Develop solutions to internal and customer failures. Develop tools to improve internal development flows and increase team efficiency. Integrate storage software into future operating system releases and hardware products. Develop software to support new system-on-chip hardware in future products. Work with hardware engineering teams to drive future storage architecture improvement. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 - $214,500/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering or related field.

• Education and/or experience must include each of the following:

• Utilizing the C programming language to develop embedded firmware

• Analyzing algorithm performance and developing high-performance algorithms and data structures

• Utilizing C or C++ to develop device drivers for hardware devices to bring up new chipsets and hardware systems

• Experience in operating system internals, including threading and memory management to develop software components.

• Experience in hardware/software interaction, including memory-mapped I/O and interrupt handling to control hardware devices

• Experience with scripting tools such as Python to develop internal tools for development, performance measurement, and testing.

• Experience debugging embedded systems with debugger tools such as GDB or LLDB to identify and fix bugs in embedded software

• Experience utilizing Git to enable version control management
