Description
APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Specifying, designing, and implementing a multi-mode L1 software/firmware architecture of a state-of-the-art mobile wireless communications system using standard industry programming languages (C/C++, Python, Perl) and tools (Matlab) as well as Apple’s internal technologies (FastSim, RT Kit). Developing and implementing cellular modem control SW and advanced features in areas such as mobility management, Inter-RAT, Inter-frequency ENDC, NRDC, Multi-SIM, Radio Resource Management, Multi-carrier PHY channel configuration and scheduling, Radio Link Monitoring, Beam Management to enable cellular capabilities for Apple’s consumer product lines such as iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch. Implementing key scheduling and control processing in tight timeline under low latency, memory and energy constraints. Special focusing on FR2 interactions of above procedures. Working with other Firmware and Cellular Protocol Stack Engineers, Systems Engineers and Product Architects to collaborate on design and requirements, interface definitions and new features. Assisting in the development of pre-silicon emulation systems/virtual platforms by researching industry standards, formalizing technical requirements for the virtual platforms and using them for pre-silicon FW design and HW verification. Evaluating and implementing leading edge tools for build, formal verification and test by utilizing Apple’s internal infrastructure and methodologies. Defining methodologies and best practices. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $199,534 - $214,500/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering or related field and 3 year of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
2 year of experience with each of the following skills is required
In-depth understanding of 5G and 4G 3GPP physical layer and protocol stack procedures and configurations
Fundamental facility with C and C++, Python, compilers, build and source code control tools.
Deep understanding of software engineering principles, and core computer science fundamentals
Significant experience with memory constrained Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and concurrent programming
Solid understanding of computer architecture with particular emphasis on the HW/SW interfaces of high speed communication subsystems
Fundamental facility with build and source code control tools
Strong analysis and debugging capabilities to be able to define issues and work with firmware development and systems design teams to close these issues
