Apple’s Sales organization generates the revenue needed to fuel our ongoing development of products and services. This in turn, enriches the lives of hundreds of millions of people around the world. Our sales team, is in many ways, the face of Apple to our largest customers.
As a Higher Education Business Development Executive, you will serve as a strategic thought leader to Apple’s Education Sales Leadership team, providing valuable input, educational perspectives, and guidance to scale Apple’s impact for Higher Education across the United States. As one of the ‘go to experts’ supporting Apple’s Education team, you will partner cross-functionally to develop and execute sales strategies, customer success plans, and targeted initiatives to transform the education community’s perception and engagement with Apple. In addition to leading strategic engagements with state-level systems and strategic customers, you will work closely with Sales Leadership to identify quarterly and annual priority renewals, new business opportunities, and growth plans nationwide. You will leverage your sharp business acumen and strong knowledge of the education industry while creating and implementing strategies to accelerate business growth. Through your passion for Apple and extraordinary presentation and storytelling skills, you will inspire and motivate groundbreaking change and help transform the way people work, teach, and learn.
This role requires up to 50% domestic travel.
Description
In this role, you will:
- Drive Apple’s core education messaging to assigned state-level systems and strategic identified customers, focused on influencing education leadership to implement Apple products and services.
- Be a trusted advisor to leaders seeking guidance on driving change and transformation in learning environments and represent voices of education institutions. Provide expertise and mentorship to customers to ensure effective implementation.
- Analyze education customer trends and partnership capabilities. Collect customer feedback, synthesize insights, and proactively highlight emerging challenges or opportunities to inform strategic decision-making.
- Maintain relationships with a variety of cross-functional and multidirectional partners including Regional Sales Leadership, Strategy, Demand Generation, Enablement Teams, WW Field Success, CEI, Apple Professional Learning (APL), Apple Professional Services (APS), Apple Distinguished Schools (ADS), and others as needed.
- Develop and implement innovative field sales initiatives in collaboration with strategy teams to enhance sales growth and optimize performance.
- Contribute to resource development and enablement of Account teams, including team development, specialist classification criteria, and assessment for customer facing initiatives.
- Represent Apple Education at Regional and National meetings or conferences, customer briefing sessions, and highly strategic customer engagements. Establish, develop, and strengthen relationships with key state influencer groups, and state or regional education associations.
- Collaborate closely with demand generation teams to ensure alignment of outbound sales efforts with ongoing campaigns.
Minimum Qualifications
Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience
Background in education technology, business development, sales strategy, management consulting, and/or similar function in the Higher Education market
Proven experience in crafting and implementing strategic sales plans
Broad knowledge of the education market, deep understanding of the US post-secondary education system, and familiarity with effective classroom technology
Strong analytical skills, problem solving ability, and business acumen with the ability to transform data into actionable insights, business plans, and long-term strategic vision
Excellent collaboration and relationship building skills with the ability to influence cross-functionally, navigate partner organizational structures, and lead complex negotiations
Outstanding communication and presentation skills with experience presenting to senior leaders to guide business decisions
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting sales growth through channel partnerships is highly preferred
Deep expertise in the education sector, such as classroom instruction, procurement processes, leadership roles in education, and/or sales responsibilities in the educational industry
Experience in an academic leadership position is desirable
Knowledge of the Apple education ecosystem and Apple products and services is a plus
Proficiency with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), sales enablement tools, and data analysis
Strategic thought leadership to inspire and influence across various levels and functions
Forward-thinking approach and tenacity to drive what matters
Expert organizational skills and attention to detail
Master's degree or Doctorate preferred
