DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Facilities Technician - Level I to join our team specializing in Facilities for our Cummins Inc. facility in Maxton, NC.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Ensuring Operational Efficiency : By performing routine maintenance and repairs, you'll keep facility equipment and property structures in optimal condition, minimizing downtime and enhancing productivity.
Addressing Safety Concerns : Your proactive approach to identifying and addressing safety issues will create a safer work environment for everyone, reducing the risk of accidents and injuries.
Maintaining Tools and Vehicles : Ensuring that tools, materials, and vehicles are in good working order supports the smooth operation of maintenance activities and prevent disruptions.
Utilizing Maintenance Software : Your use of software to track, assign, and prioritize maintenance tasks will streamline operations, improve efficiency, and ensure timely completion of work.
Managing Supplies and Inventories : By ordering supplies and managing spare parts inventories, you will ensure that necessary materials are always available, preventing delays in maintenance work.
Adapting to Various Conditions : Your ability to perform work in extreme conditions (heat, cold, moisture) demonstrates resilience and ensures that maintenance tasks are completed regardless of environmental challenges.
Conducting Minor Repairs : Your skills in plumbing, floor repair, ceiling and light fixture installation, and wall repair will address immediate issues and maintain the facility's functionality and appearance.
Operating and Maintaining Equipment : By effectively using and maintaining vehicle equipment and powered hand tools, you'll enhance the efficiency and quality of maintenance work, contributing to the overall upkeep of the facility.

Facilities Operation : Manage occupant services and the maintenance contracting process efficiently. Develop and manage operational planning requirements to ensure optimal facility conditions, including temperature control, lighting, and equipment replacement.
HVAC Technical Skills : Troubleshoot, repair, and install heating equipment, boilers, ventilation systems, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, and other mechanical equipment. This will ensure the facility's heating and cooling needs are met, supporting both the people and processes within.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
Minimal or no work experience required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Information:
A good understanding of applicable assembly processes is helpful.
Working knowledge of, and relevant experience with, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and mechanical systems is preferred.
Skill to troubleshoot and repair control issues on equipment controlled by PLC’s is desired.
Successful candidates must be able to learn new concepts and apply them daily in interpreting the proper repair techniques required for each situation.
Ability to solicit information from various sources and compile into a course of action.
Must be able to access all areas of the plant and safely use ladders and other access devices, such as scissors lifts and articulated boom lifts.
This job also requires some climbing and standing for extended periods.
