Job Description

Purpose

The Associate Director Pipeline Analytics and Operations leads cross-functional teams to deliver strategic projects and enhance business operations, ensuring data-driven insights align with organizational objectives. The role entails developing advanced data analysis techniques, strategic reporting frameworks, and innovative resource management tools to boost decision-making and operational efficiency. Through strategic communication and mentorship, the Associate Director ensures stakeholder alignment and drives continuous improvement across both business processes and workforce capabilities, with a comprehensive understanding of the portfolio.

Responsibilities:

•Data Analyses and Insights Generation Management: Proactively lead the analysis of R&D business operations data to extract meaningful insights that drive decision-making. Actively identify trends and patterns that present opportunities or risks to the organization, developing strategies to capitalize on or mitigate these factors.

•Data Visualization and Insights: Develop strategic and compelling visualizations to effectively communicate complex data insights and operations metrics in a way that resonates with diverse stakeholders. Leverage advanced tools to craft compelling narratives that enable understanding and garner strategic support across teams. Focus on ensuring accessibility and engagement of data-driven narratives for varied audiences.

•Strategic Reporting and Insight Sharing Oversight: Develop and manage a strategic reporting paradigm to elevate project insights for executive decision-making and long-term planning. Emphasize the use of comprehensive data analysis and stakeholder feedback to tailor insights that reflect leadership priorities and identify strategic opportunities and threats. Oversee complex ad hoc reporting efforts, ensuring in-depth analyses are provided swiftly.

•Leadership Communication Alignment: Establish and maintain strategic communication pathways that foster transparency and trust among stakeholders at all levels. Develop collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to enhance strategic alignment and clarify business objectives. Lead meetings, workshops, and presentations to communicate project objectives, updates, and outcomes. Use a variety of communication tools to ensure all parties are informed and engaged.

•Innovation Implementation: Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in the pharmaceutical industry, project management, and analytics disciplines. Take an active role in applying innovative tools and methodologies that have a tangible impact on efficiency and quality. Facilitate the adoption of creative solutions, focusing on improving specific processes and outcomes.

•Strategic Project Initiatives Direction: Direct cross-functional teams in the successful delivery of strategic projects that align with and advance organizational objectives. Oversee project scope, timelines, budgeting, and resource allocation, maintaining a focus on delivering quality outcomes. Cultivate an environment of collaboration and clear communication among team members, ensuring alignment with objectives and readiness to implement contingency plans for project success.

•Business Operations and Process Management Development: Guide the development and management of business processes across functions to ensure efficiency and alignment with strategic objectives. Identify areas for improvement and implement targeted solutions to enhance operational effectiveness. Provide strategic direction and support for the effective use of systems and tools, fostering operational alignment and agility.

•Information Management Strategy Development: Design and execute strategic data management frameworks to enhance the organization’s ability to uncover actionable insights. Work closely with IT and analytics groups to implement advanced data management solutions that support business goals. Proactively evaluate these strategies to align with shifting market dynamics and advancements in technology. Lead initiatives to develop comprehensive data quality metrics and monitoring systems.

•Resource Management Implementation: Develop and maintain advanced predictive algorithms and resourcing analysis tools to optimize resource allocation and workforce planning. Lead practical initiatives to improve these tools, ensuring they are responsive to changing business needs and technological advancements. Apply insights from these tools to support strategic decision-making and enhance operational efficiency.

•Mentorship and Development Champion: Champion a strategic approach to mentorship, fostering an environment of professional growth and leadership development. Encourage strategic thinking and problem-solving skills within junior team members. Develop initiatives grounding in strategic objectives to build a future-ready workforce. Facilitate training and development initiatives that build analytic, project management and business operations competencies.

Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a technical, scientific, or project management-related discipline and 10+ years of professional work experience, preferably in project management, data-driven strategies, or the pharmaceutical or biotech industry; or Master’s degree with 8+ years of work experience; or Doctorate degree with 6+ years of work experience in similar disciplines.

•Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Demonstrated history of successful execution in a fast-paced environment and in managing multiple priorities effectively.

•Ability to work independently and represent sound strategies is required.

•Must have clear leadership skills that minimally include: strong written and effective interpersonal communication; capability to clearly present, influence, and logically justify proposals; sound judgment; negotiation and conflict management; effective communication across cultures and disciplines; relationship building and fostering teamwork; and training experience.

•Comprehensive knowledge of the drug development process is crucial.

•Significant cross-functional and global project team leadership experience preferred. Proficient in the tools and techniques of project management, business operations, and quantitative analytics. Excellent technology skills (e.g., project management software, business intelligence/analytics tools, artificial intelligence techniques, etc.) required.

Key Stakeholders

Senior leaders, project managers, development team representatives, R&D functional leadership, finance, and IT.

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
