Summary
The Market Director (MD) is a key leader within Apple’s Retail organization. Through deep strengths in strategic mindset and ability to operate, inspire and leverage teams, the Market Director serves as an essential ambassador and influencer for Retail’s growing role in the community. The MD is a highly visible communicator, who role models Apple's culture and Retail Credo. Effective leadership across widely diverse teams is critical as this role sets the tone, pace, and priorities for his/her region. The MD reports to the Senior Market Director, and is focused on driving organizational stability, scaling for growth, building leadership bench, and driving a culture of performance and accountability. Strategically, Market Directors set the targets and roadmap on key initiatives, prioritizing and mobilizing resources to drive business success. Setting the platform for the Stores includes succession planning, performance, leadership, and prioritizing key business-goals activities. For these, exceptional quality of decision, leadership amongst peers, courage, confidence, and unending curiosity for new trends in technology, culture, and retail, are some of the standout and most essential qualities. The MD should know how to swiftly access key levers to igniting performance, and ensure that team and individual development is top priority.
Description
The MD serves as a key business leader with the ability to provide strategic direction and leadership to our high performing retail Apple stores. The MD brings a solid understanding of group and corporate dynamics and the demonstrated ability to employ sound judgment in complex situations. The ideal candidate has a passion for creating the ultimate customer experience and can inspire, lead and drive that passion to Market level. MDs have exceptional understanding and proven application of Sales and Service strategies, Small Business initiatives, merchandising & visual consistency and adherence, inventory, payroll and expense management. Building effective teams, and attracting, developing, and sharing talent should be a towering strength, including driving inclusion and diversity, building and enhancing performance, succession and talent planning processes, in order to efficiently and effectively prioritize key levers and initiatives to accelerate the development of others.
Minimum Qualifications
Complex multi store leadership background
Ability to represent the Apple brand and maintain the Apple culture broadly
Proven track record of developing business growth strategies
Preferred Qualifications
Sustained track record of building effective teams and an inclusive work environment, promoting, hiring and developing teams and future leaders
Passion for technology and innovation
Leader amongst peers and partners
Ability to work effectively and collaborate with all levels within the organization
Must be comfortable working through ambiguity and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Travel required across store locations
