DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented People Support Advisor to join our team specializing in Human Resources for our Cummins Power Generation organization in Fridley, MN .

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Process Optimization : By compiling and analyzing HR metrics, you'll identify areas for improvement and recommend actionable changes to enhance efficiency.

  • Conflict Resolution : Assisting in resolving conflicts and providing coaching will foster a harmonious and productive work environment.

  • Performance Enhancement : Participating in performance management activities, including employee development planning, will help improve individual and team performance.

  • Talent Acquisition : Providing staffing and recruiting support, along with workforce data analysis, will ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.

  • Compensation and Benefits : Facilitating compensation processes and benefits administration will ensure fair and competitive employee packages, contributing to employee satisfaction.

  • Policy Compliance : Advising on HR policies and legislative requirements will help maintain compliance and mitigate legal risks.

  • Training Coordination : Coordinating training needs assessments and participating in training activities will support employee growth and development.

  • Data Integrity : Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of workforce information in HR systems will support informed decision-making and strategic planning.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Change Management - Applies the Cummins structured process and tool set for engaging individuals and organizations through change to achieve and sustain business results and outcomes.

  • Compensation and Benefits Administration - Translates Cummins plan design, statutory and tax requirements in the communication and delivery of compensation and benefit programs.

  • Conducting An Investigation - Utilizes interpersonal skills, sound judgment and investigation tools/process to resolve reported violations of Cummins standards in a way that promotes our values and ethical principles; conducts effective interviews and analyzes information; clearly articulates findings and makes recommendations verbally and in writing.

  • Employee Relations - Builds constructive relationships with employees and other stakeholders; reinforces consistent application of Cummins standards applies knowledge of employment and labor law; effectively manages conflict; builds and maintains a collaborative, productive work environment through information sharing and consultation.

  • Human Resources Business Process Execution - Manages the execution of Human Resources business processes, seeking efficiency, accuracy, positive business performance outcomes and operational agility; integrates activities across processes as needed; assures compliance with process and legal requirements; effectively balances process requirements and business leader needs.

  • Human Resources Consulting - Collaborates with partners to observe the environment and apply sound judgment informed by knowledge, skills, and experiences to diagnose, identify and optimize opportunities to provide holistic solutions, while balancing the needs of stakeholders, primarily employees, with those of the organization.

  • Human Resources Data Management - Acts on people data to ensure completeness, accuracy and compliance with company policy and legislative requirements.

  • Organization Design - Applies Cummins Organization Design principles and tools, whilst partnering with leaders, to determine the optimal organizational design and structure to deliver on strategic goals.

  • Data Analytics - Discovers, interprets and communicates qualitative and quantitative data; determines conclusions relying on knowledge of business or functional frameworks; simultaneously applies statistics, data validity, data visualization, and problem solving approaches to effectively extract meaningful patterns and business insights; presents conclusions and outcomes that enable data driven business decisions.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent experience required.

Experience:

  • 2 years minimal relevant work experience required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Responsibilities:

Provides first line support and coaching to employee and manager inquiries at the Fridley, MN manufacturing facility as the single point of contact through resolution. Supports deployment and effectiveness of a broad range of HR processes, programs and initiatives across all businesses and functions. Assists in delivering solutions to enhance employee experience, drive efficiency, and are compliant with local legislation and company policy. Role is an on-site position.

  • Responsible for first line employee and manager inquiry support, ensuring responses are provided in a timely, high-quality manner, and are aligned with HR policies and knowledge.

  • Provides support and coaching to employees and managers on all employee lifecycle activities including inquiries on HR processes, programs and initiatives to deliver enhanced experience (e.g. compensation, performance, onboarding, new hires, separation, disciplinary and other HR processes)

  • Assists in resolution of conflicts and provides coaching and counseling on employment matters.

  • Assists in providing seamless end-to-end solutions with soft handoffs to specialists when needed.

  • Assists in building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders including employees, managers and internal HR teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

  • Assists in the consistent and effective delivery of HR processes and data management in alignment with overall human resources objectives.

  • Ensures delivery is in accordance with established standards and in adherence to HR policies and procedures; assists in monitoring legislative compliance and takes action to ensure all requirements and agreements are met.
