DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Skilled Technician - Level II to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Jamestown, NY.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Support Manufacturing Needs : Perform skilled activities that directly contribute to the efficiency and productivity of the manufacturing process.

  • Safety Compliance : Adhere to Health, Safety & Environmental standards, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.

  • Quality Assurance : Apply high standards of workmanship and craftsmanship, ensuring the quality and reliability of the products and equipment.

  • Equipment Maintenance : Conduct preventive, emergency, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities to keep machinery and equipment in optimal condition.

  • Problem Solving : Collaborate with peers and support staff to identify and reduce manufacturing constraints, solve problems, and improve processes.

  • Environmental Responsibility : Recognize the environmental impact of your work and take steps to minimize negative effects, promoting sustainability.

  • Continuous Improvement : Participate in continuous improvement activities, contributing to the ongoing enhancement of manufacturing processes and practices.

  • Effective Communication : Communicate effectively with your team and support teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

  • Apply Manufacturing Knowledge : Demonstrate a strong understanding of manufacturing processes by correctly implementing changes in current processes, equipment, and applications. This will help meet the function's needs and drive continuous improvement.

  • Engage in Continuous Improvement : Actively participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance manufacturing processes and practices. Your contributions will help improve quality, safety, and efficiency.

  • Foster a Collaborative Environment : Communicate effectively with your team and support teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. This will help you and your colleagues achieve better results together.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information:

  • Self Motivated/ Self Starter with limited direction

  • Ability to read/review part prints and understands GD&T when reviewing standards and tolerances.

  • Can use Micrometers, Calipers and gages required to inspect for non-conformances.

  • Conducts MSA's with quality team members to ensure gages and process meet quality standards.

  • Detailed oriented and can assist in Root Cause analysis which include 5Y and 3Ps.

  • Can analyze quality data and trends to recommend process improvements.

  • Maintain detailed quality records and documents ensuring traceability of issues.

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
