Job Description
The Associate Director, Omnichannel Campaign Management serves as a strategic leader within AbbVie's Marketing Communications team, responsible for the seamless execution of complex, multi-channel brand campaigns across therapeutic areas. This role partners with multiple internal marketing teams and external agency partners to ensure flawless campaign implementation, timely delivery, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in campaign execution, cross-functional leadership, and process optimization to drive efficiency and innovation in omnichannel marketing.
Key Responsibilities:
Campaign Execution & Risk Management
Lead Digital Lab execution of brand omnichannel campaigns across multiple brands within a therapeutic area, ensuring seamless implementation, timely delivery, and proactive risk mitigation
Own comprehensive implementation planning, including detailed roadmaps and timelines across all Digital Lab channels
Drive day-to-day campaign progress, proactively monitoring dependencies, resolving complex roadblocks, and managing risks to keep high-priority campaigns on track
Assess changes in scope, identify risks and issues early, and implement corrective actions to maintain campaign integrity
Coordinate with cross-functional Digital Lab teams, Business Technology Services (BTS), APEX (where appropriate), and digital agency partners to ensure flawless execution across all channels
Mentor and guide Manager-level campaign managers on escalated issues and complex campaign scenarios
Campaign Process Optimization & Standardization
Evaluate campaign implementation effectiveness to drive operational efficiency and identify strategic improvement opportunities
Lead process standardization initiatives through development and maintenance of playbooks, implementation guides, and clear RACI models
Drive automation efficiency across the campaign management function, enhancing speed, cost-effectiveness, and operational excellence
Champion innovation by identifying, piloting, and implementing advanced AI tools and latest platforms for process efficiency
Partner with Marketing Operations on the adoption and optimization of project management technologies (Smartsheets, Adobe Workfront)
Ensure the team stays at the forefront of omnichannel campaign management excellence through continuous improvement initiatives
Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication
Collaborate strategically with Omnichannel Experience Leads to ensure implementation planning aligns with brand campaign needs and business objectives
Communicate campaign execution updates effectively, keeping stakeholders informed on progress, risks, key learnings, and recommended actions
Serve as strategic liaison between Omnichannel Experience teams and Digital Lab Capability teams, facilitating effective collaboration
Partner with Digital Marketing Services channel teams, A3 creative agency, and Marketing Operations to ensure alignment on timelines, interdependencies, and execution requirements
Present campaign execution performance, process improvements, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
Team Leadership & Development
Provide leadership, coaching, and development to Manager-level campaign managers
Foster a culture of operational excellence, innovation, and continuous learning within the campaign management team
Build team capabilities in emerging technologies, AI-driven project management tools, and omnichannel best practices
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field
8+ years of progressive experience in campaign management, project management, or marketing operations within pharmaceutical, healthcare, or complex matrixed organizations
3+ years of people leadership or team mentorship experience
Demonstrated expertise in omnichannel campaign execution across digital and traditional channels
Advanced proficiency in project management tools (Smartsheet, Adobe Workfront, or similar platforms)
Proven track record of managing complex, multi-stakeholder campaigns with competing priorities
Strong understanding of pharmaceutical marketing regulations and medical/legal review processes
Experience driving process optimization, standardization, and automation initiatives
Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills with ability to influence without authority
Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
PMP, Agile, or similar project management certification
Experience with AI-driven project management tools and marketing automation platforms
Knowledge of pharmaceutical brand marketing, HCP and patient engagement strategies
Experience working with creative agencies and media partners
Familiarity with CRM systems and digital marketing technologies
