The VP, HR Business Partner / Colleague Strategic Partner (CSP) will join the CSP organization at American Express, serving as a strategic advisor to senior leaders and their teams across Corporate Development, U.S. Consumer Governance & Control (G&C), and Travel & Lifestyle Services (TLS).
In this role, the VP will provide strategic HR support to our colleagues to influence and accelerate workforce readiness, elevate change leadership, transform processes and experiences, and deliver on our competitive value proposition. Success will be achieved through a close partnership with key stakeholders and the ability to anticipate business needs, proactively diagnose organizational challenges, and deliver data-driven solutions across a variety of strategic initiatives, all anchored to our overall CEG strategy.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a trusted strategic advisor and thought partner to leaders and their teams, shaping workforce strategy to accelerate business transformation and growth
Engage actively in organizational effectiveness and change efforts, serving as the expert in how change is led and sustained to enable business priorities
Develop and execute a comprehensive talent strategy that strengthens business performance and leadership capability, builds succession for critical roles, proactively identifies gaps and implements plans to address them
Provide high-impact consultation and practical, data-driven solutions to business leaders
Lead and drive proactive development, engagement, retention, and succession strategies for critical talent
Co-create with key partners to continuously improve the “moments that matter” throughout the colleague lifecycle
Design and deliver innovative products, processes, and tools informed by colleague data and insights, co-creating with business leaders and CEG colleagues to ensure solutions meet business needs.
Lead and execute end-to-end change efforts in support of key business priorities.
Lead one direct report.
Minimum Qualifications
A minimum of 10 years of HR related, or organizational consulting experience, including advising leaders in complex, matrixed, and regulated environments.
Demonstrated track record of leading large-scale organizational change and transformation initiatives that delivered measurable business results.
Proven ability to proactively translate business strategy into talent and workforce strategies that drive performance, organizational effectiveness, and fuel growth.
Experience in multiple Human Resource disciplines, including talent management, recruitment, organizational effectiveness, compensation, leadership development and colleague labor relations
Strong business acumen: understanding of our business strategy, plans, and the impact of internal and external factors.
Strategic thinking: proactively develop ideas that drive meaningful colleague experiences and competitive advantage.
Ability to coach and influence leadership and navigate difficult conversations
Demonstrated ability to use data to develop insights, make decisions, create solutions, and drive continuous improvement.
Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate with senior leadership, business partners and across CEG
Deep understanding of our business and talent across the enterprise
A global mindset and experiences with different countries and cultures.
Qualifications
Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
Salary Range: $176,750.00 to $282,000.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
