DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Scrum Master I to join our team specializing in Systems/Information Technology for Cummins, Inc. in Columbus, IN.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Lean/Agile Leadership : Establish lean/agile leadership, support the Product Owner, and promote quality practices. Be skilled in Scrum practices, including estimation and prioritization using agile techniques.
Guidance and Coaching : Guide and coach team members on agile practices. Provide developmental feedback using a servant leadership style and lead by example.
Team Environment : Foster an environment of mutual respect, cooperation, transparency, and autonomy. Facilitate getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating tasks.
Agile Adoption : Drive the adoption of agile practices, bridging the gap between theory and practice. Promote continuous improvement.
Metrics : Establish key metrics and monitor agile metrics that impact value-driven delivery. Ensure all solution documentation is complete (Definition of Done).
Open Communication : Communicate team progress and goals using program boards, burn-up, burn-down, or other methods.
Support and Protection : Support team rules and norms, protect the team from outside interference, and remove impediments or find the right personnel to do so.
Relationship Management : Maintain strong relationships to deliver business value using relevant Business Relationship Management practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Building High Performance Teams - Identify the critical skills needed for your team and ensure these are developed and applied effectively.Apply Lean-Agile principles to foster a collaborative and efficient team environment.Encourage your team to construct high-quality, well-designed technical solutions by promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
Lean Agile and SAFe Mindset - Advocates for and leads others in the concepts of the Agile Manifesto and Lean thinking. Ensure that the 9 SAFe principles are understood and applied within your organization.
Continuous Delivery Pipeline - Implement workflows and activities that streamline the delivery process from ideation to release.Focus on delivering value to the end user on demand, ensuring that new functionalities are released smoothly and effectively.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
College, university, or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related subject, or relevant equivalent experience required. Agile Certification (Certified Scrum Master - CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM) or Safe Scrum Master Certification (SSM) are preferred.
position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience working in a software development organization and in an Agile environment as a scrum master demonstrating knowledge and practical experience of the Lean methodology, principles and tools are preferred.
Additional Responsibilities:
Understanding of Verification, Validation, and Knowledge Management applications in Engineering IT preferred.
Management of competing priorities, stakeholders, extended teams (other power cells), suppliers.
Familiarity with Cummins Software release processes.
Compensation
Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
