Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Seattle, Washington. Design and implement distributed systems to build world-class machine learning (ML) platforms/products at scale and across different cloud environments that power ML at Apple. Partner with data scientists and machine learning engineers across different Apple organizations to deliver high-impact product features quality. Responsible for system that hosts hundreds of petabytes of structured and unstructured multi modal data which is used for Machine Learning and Foundational Models. Responsible for ensuring complete data lineage and legal workflow integration while optimizing performance and scalability. Responsible for monitoring the performance of the system, optimizing it for cost and efficiency, and solving any issues that arise. Work on cutting-edge technology and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions using background in software development, public cloud platforms, and distributed databases. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $212,202 - $258,100/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation.

  • 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required:

  • Utilizing data structures and algorithms to create systems that are efficient and reliable at business scale.

  • Using Java to implement modular and maintainable code for machine learning platform’s data management service.

  • Ensuring quality code by creating unit and system test cases.

  • Utilizing Big Data Technologies including Open Table Format (Iceberg), AWS Big Data Technologies such as Amazon S3, Dynamo DB, RDS, Redshift, or EMR to enable large scale data to be efficiently stored and retrieved.

  • Applying AWS to build large scale cloud based applications for internal purposes

  • Utilizing CI/CD to help with building and deploying the platform.

  • Creating and maintaining REST API for internal usage

  • Designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems in a cloud-native environment
