Description

APPLE INC has the following available in San Francisco, California.Manage a team of engineers focused on Foundation DB site reliability engineering and providing Foundation DB as a service for software engineering teams. Support new critical infrastructure systems that power Apple products and services. Ensure that the essential back-office systems are structured for unlocking new productivity and scale for consistent systems state storage services. Analyze and test current software structures and recommend changes for improving their efficiency, cost, and reliability. Influence the direction of the backend of many critical Apple internet services. Engage with internal and external teams to discuss the design and requirements. Adapt existing software for use with newer and trending technology such as Kubernetes. Perform engineering team manager duties such as prioritizing employee work, managing engineering job performance, performing job reviews, and interviewing and hiring. Work with other managers to prioritize short- and long-term projects, manage day to day operations of the system, and plan for future software and hardware needs as determined by the organization. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $200,304 - $298,100/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

  • Experience and/or education must include:

  • Writing software for production use in Java, Go, Python, and Bash script.

  • Using Foundation DB or similar Database Experience to manage database software.

  • Applying Software Engineering to construct and review tools.

  • Designing and operating systems using tools written in Java.

  • Deploying, maintaining, and repairing systems in Linux.

  • Site Reliability Engineering: using knowledge of operation patterns for operating large-scale systems.

  • Applying Site Reliability Engineering using observability systems and patterns for monitoring FoundationDB or similar databases.

  • Experience working cross functionally with stakeholders, gathering requirements, and executing on deliverables.
