Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Seattle, Washington. Research, develop, and implement innovative neural network algorithms for computer vision, NLP, audio, and related domains. Develop large-scale deep learning infrastructure that will be used by product teams for developing, evaluating, and deploying machine learning models. Provide technical guidance to product teams on the choice of neural network architectures, data collection and evaluation. Provide requirements for what data is needed to train a model. Help shape decisions of what to optimize the model for. Improve the quality of an ML model taking into account multiple quality factors, including accuracy, performance, memory. Work with software engineers to deploy/evaluate ML models into production. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 - $204,000/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.

• Education and/or experience must include:

• Training neural network models using modern machine learning frameworks

• Utilizing programming skills including Python and C++ to develop software and tooling for training infrastructure

• Data structures, software design principles, and algorithms to design and implement code

• Machine learning domains including Computer Vision, NLP, audio, Gen AI or LLMs

• Deep learning frameworks including PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow to implement model implementation and training components

• Distributed machine learning frameworks including torch, distributed, DeepSpeed, or Ray to implement distributed optimization algorithms

• Developing model parallel and data parallel training solutions and other training optimizations

• Building large-scale deep learning infrastructure or platforms for distributed model training
