The Chief Technology Officer Organization’s vision is to raise the bar for technical excellence, talent, strategy, and standards across Technology. It also seeks to cultivate and foster technical innovation, as well as elevate and amplify the technical heartbeat of the organization.
You’ll be part of the Digital Payments Engineering team whose mandate is to develop new products and platforms for American Express customers. Payments Engineering’s aim is to build interactive experiences at all touch points of a consumer's journey whether before, at, or after the time of purchase. The products will range from new payment vehicles and partnerships with other payment entities to interactive mobile experiences.
How will you make an impact in this role?
Collaborate with product teams and UX designers to build user interfaces that meet both customer expectations and industry regulations while ensuring cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.
Translate Figma or work with UX designers into high quality, maintainable code using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and frameworks like React.
Optimize UI performance for speed, responsiveness and scalability.
Integrate front end code with backend APIs and Services.
Participate in code reviews, testing and debugging to ensure code quality and functionality.
Serve as a member of an agile team contributing to sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives.
Maintains design system components and help evolve front-end best practices.
Foster the spirit of collaboration across multiple internal teams
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Design or related field.
8-9 years of professional experience in front end development.
Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS and front-end frameworks like React.
Familiarity with RESTful APIs and OAuth/Token
Solid understanding of accessibility (WCAG) and usability and cross browser compatibility.
Experience using Git, Agile methodologies like JIRA.
Excellent problem solving and communication skills
Be highly motivated and maintain a positive, “can-do” attitude in a fast moving environment
Qualifications
Salary Range: $85,000.00 to $150,000.00 annually bonus benefits
