How will you make an impact in this role?
The Enterprise Data Strategy team within Credit & Fraud Risk evaluates and rationalizes Credit bureau and other external data to address business problem statement, improve risk decisions and customer experiences across the credit and fraud lifecycles. The Senior Manager will be responsible to drive data strategy for the CFR enterprise through analytics & data driven insights and will lead discussions with CFR Leadership to influence medium to long term strategy. They will collaborate and provide data insights and solutions to Credit & Fraud risk strategy, Decision Science and Marketing teams. This role presents a unique opportunity within CFR to work with industry leaders to bring external perspective on market trends & competitive solution, develop & implement bespoke data products and drive effective strategies.
Responsibilities:
Data-Driven Impact
Analyze large sets of data in internal analytical environment or third-party sandbox to quantify opportunities to increase coverage, improve quality, bring in incremental intelligence and improve risk discrimination, and influence strategy and models use cases to maximize return on data investments.
Apply analytical thinking to diagnose business needs and blind spots.
Strategic mind-set: Self-motivated individual who can problem-solve and think critically, to develop concrete insights backed by data and analytics and find opportunities to strengthen business performance
Story Telling with Data: Leverage data analysis to craft compelling, insight-driven narratives that inform strategic decision-making
Fortify foundation by ensuring permissible use & service level agreements are established, data quality controls enhanced, usage volatilities are investigated & resolved, work orders or agreements meet standard, in effective collaboration with Procurement & Supply Management, TRM COE, Operational Excellence, Controllership & Capability Product owners & Product Managers.
Bring in process excellence, cultivate culture and behavior to rationalize data investment, deliver data driven insights to improve return on investment, manage operational risk in third party relationship and in data integration and in end-use of data.
Leadership
Own projects on data transformation, define business problem statement & plan for evaluation, delivery & accomplish key results.
Lead with an external perspective, able to offer an understanding of data innovation in the marketplace & influence & shape data strategies.
Ability to navigate multi-function & stakeholders to gather diverse information & funnel it into medium to long term strategies. This role partners closely with US Consumer Credit Risk Strategy & Global Decision Science, General Counsel Organization, Global Compliance and Ethics, Procurement & Supply Management, Operational Excellence, Risk Product.
Build the best team, invest in grooming talent through feedback and coaching, regular career aspirations conversations and providing necessary tools and resource to the direct report(s) and indirect reports to be successful in the role.
Qualifications:
5 years of experience in a financial services organization in consumer or commercial data or strategy function
Knowledge of Credit Risk standards, practices, or external Credit data sources
Master's Degree or higher required, concentration in a quantitative field preferred
Adept at statistical tools including Python, Hive and, familiar with big data and cloud environments, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint
Have knowledge of Excel, Python and SQL encompassing data manipulation and financial modeling techniques
Adept at assimilation of technical requirements on product, process & contract to inform problem statements, project plan, key success metric and dependencies, executive communication.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and across a matrixed organization to deliver solutions at top speed
Ability to manage and lead large scale projects with multiple cross functional partners
Good communication and influencing skills with an ability to translate business problem statement into analytical exercise & analytics outcomes into compelling business insights and recommendations
Adaptable interpersonal skills, high energy, and a proven team-first mentality
The role requires a highly analytical, creative, strong communicator and strategic thinker with proven experience of defining strategy, delivering intelligence in data, project management and performance management of external partners and direct reports.
Qualifications
Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
