The Global Trade Compliance team is closely aligned with the business and is one of the best business partnering organisations inside of Apple. This highly visible role will be focused on supporting Product Ops, Business Ops, Business Process Reengineering, Finance Ops and AppleCare teams by providing compliance, legal and strategic guidance, tools, data, reporting, process recommendations, financial analysis, and business metrics.
Description
We are seeking a professional with high analytical capacity, creativity, attention to detail, and strong social skills to join the WW Global Trade Optimisation team. The role entails performing complex supply chain legal and operational analysis, collaborating cross-functionally and with local teams in the region, developing and executing business strategies, and presenting business updates to senior management.
The primary focus of this position is on US origin and marking rules. The individual will be involved in Business Partnering on Supply Chain Compliance issues with various teams within Apple, including Ops (Biz and Product Ops), Apple Care, Legal (Trade and Product), Logistics, Planning, BPR, Ops, and the wider finance organisation. Responsibilities include assisting in the creation and deployment of origin determination and communication tools and solutions, working with different IT systems and software packages to develop automated solutions that enhance compliance and cost-saving measures, including tracking origin changes over time and implementing FTAs.
Additionally, the role involves supporting the GTO management system for error handling and transactional audit maintenance. The individual will communicate the legal, process, marking, and system impacts requirements to the Operational teams. They will assist in reviewing manufacturing processes and supply chains to determine the Country of Origin for both export and import countries.
Collaboration with regional teams is essential to ensure that all Trade concerns are included in any analysis or feedback. The responsibilities also include designing and troubleshooting processes and systems used to support origin determination, as well as assisting in determining the Country of Origin for specific modules.
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of relevant Trade experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance, Legal or other related field
Preferred Qualifications
Strong technical understanding of US customs regulations, with a specific focus on origin determination, marking, and free trade agreements.
Ability to comprehend and potentially learn multi-regulatory cross-country requirements.
Strategic thinking and the ability to consider the broader context.
In-depth knowledge and experience in project and process management.
Ability to influence across various functional teams.
Ability to work effectively under pressure, including tight deadlines and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to complex processes in a dynamic and multifaceted work environment.
Willingness to acquire technical knowledge of trade compliance (origin, classification) and its impact on the business.
This role requires exceptional analytical skills and the ability to comprehend end-to-end supply chains. Experience with systems (EDI, SAP/other ERP) and projects is advantageous.
Attention to detail and proven ability to meet tight deadlines are essential.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $107,300 and $161,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
