As part of Team Amex, you'll experience this powerful backing with comprehensive support for your holistic well-being and many opportunities to learn new skills, develop as a leader, and grow your career. Here, your voice and ideas matter, your work makes an impact, and together, you will help us define the future of American Express.
The Senior Manager will define and stand-up Marketing’s third-party management strategy, architect the operating model, and implement governance structures that enable effective oversight across 150 engagements.
Marketing’s third-party ecosystem is large, complex, and critical to how we operate—but it lacks a unified strategy. You will define that foundation.
This is an opportunity to build a critical capability from the ground up within Global Commercial Services Marketing. We are seeking a strategic leader who can create clarity from ambiguity, define a scalable operating model, and bring it to life through disciplined execution.
This role about stepping into a fragmented environment and determining what should exist, why it matters, and how to build it in a way that scales.
Come build the strategy, define the system, and then make it real.
Reporting to the Director of Risk Performance and Third-Party Management, this role includes one direct report and operates within a highly matrixed environment.
Key Responsibilties:
Assess a complex third-party landscape and define the future-state strategy and operating model inclusive of identifying redundancies, synergies, and opportunities for consolidation, cost efficiency, or governance improvement.
Build scalable frameworks for segmentation, ownership, and decision-making
Translate strategy into practical systems, processes, and governance routines
Drive alignment across cross functional partners
Lead and develop one direct report
Minimum Qualifications:
Proven ability to create strategy from scratch and execute it
Strong problem-solving skills in ambiguous, unstructured environments
Ability to move between big-picture thinking and detailed execution
High intellectual curiosity—challenges assumptions and digs deep
Strong influence skills in matrixed organizations
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in strategy, transformation, or operating model design is preferred
Third-party or risk experience is helpful but not required.
Qualifications
Salary Range: $103,750.00 to $174,750.00 annually bonus benefits
The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
We back you with benefits that support your holistic well-being so you can be and deliver your best. This means caring for you and your loved ones' physical, financial, and mental health, as well as providing the flexibility you need to thrive personally and professionally:
Competitive base salaries
Bonus incentives
6% Company Match on retirement savings plan
Free financial coaching and financial well-being support
