Apple's Biophotonics group is looking for an Optoelectronics Device Engineer with a background in materials science, semiconductor device, and epitaxial growth. You will work with members of a multi-functional team to characterize, analyze and epitaxially design III-V optoelectronic devices.

Description

Epitaxially design III-V optoelectronics devices.
Characterize optical and electrical performance of III-V optoelectronic devices, including noise measurements.
Apply fundamental device physics knowledge to correlate device characterization data with materials characterization data apply to improve epitaxial design.

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Materials Science, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or similar.

  • Experience with epitaxial design of semiconductor devices.

  • Experience with analysis of various materials characterization data such as Reciprocal Space Map (RSM) X-ray diffraction, AFM, TEM.

  • Good understanding of fundamentals of optoelectronic devices such as photodetectors and lasers.

  • Hands-on lab experience in semiconductor device characterization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience.

  • Ph.D. degree in Materials Science, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or similar.

  • Understanding of theory of crystal dislocations, strain relaxation in III-V materials.

  • Familiarity with MOCVD growth.

  • Experience in III-V device fabrication.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
