Enterprise Data Management & Products (EDMP), a key part of our Technology organization, focuses on delivering data products that fuel business growth and unlock value, while also shaping robust data management strategies and governance solutions. American Express is on a multi-year journey to enhance our focus on privacy compliance as well as customer data handling and transparency. As part of this journey, EDMP is establishing a global Privacy Center of Excellence (GPCE). The Privacy Standards & Training Analyst will sit within the newly formed GPCE and support the execution and communication of privacy standards, procedures, and training, and best practices across the enterprise to enable privacy-compliant business outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide support for evolving privacy initiatives, including tracking progress on document lifecycle, training rollout, and integration of intake and governance processes
Collaborate with key stakeholders on the drafting, delivery, and refresh of key communications (standards. procedures, guides, process maps, toolkits, etc.) in support of privacy interpretation and adherence.
Learn full features and capabilities of the team’s intranet site (The Square) and other ancillary sites to manage the curation, organization, and promotion of content regarding privacy standards, procedures, and training assets and related processes
Develop and keep current documentation on publication-related terms of reference, standards and procedures, and process flows for control management purposes (i.e., PRSAs, RCSAs)
Maintain and keep current an internal archive of privacy standards and procedures and records of stakeholder approvals for audit purposes; provide support for audits as requested
Support the scheduling and facilitation of global stakeholder meetings, trainings, and forums (i.e., preparing agendas, collecting input, distributing minutes as requested and ongoing)
In time, this role may be assigned to manage the end-to-end processes related to the periodic refresh of assigned privacy documents, playbooks, or other official publications
While these describe the overall responsibilities of the position, additional duties may be assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
2 years of experience as an Analyst or program/coordinator/manager, within compliance, legal, risk management, or related field required
Experience with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated organizational, planning, and project management skills
Ability to create presentation decks and materials to communicate at senior levels concisely, clearly, and consistently
Excellent written and oral communication skills to synthesize key messages, prepare impactful materials, and tailor appropriately for the intended audience; ability to read and interpret legal language
Strong relationship leadership with a track record of positively collaborating, influencing, and extensively coordinating effectively with all levels of management and foster strong relationships
Strong attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy, quality, timeliness, and follow through
Self-starter and independent thinker with strong critical reasoning skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity with confidence
Ability to work in a dynamic team and independently manage multiple tasks and changing priorities with flexibility, adaptability and patience
Ability to maintain a positive demeanor and ‘can-do’ attitude
Qualifications
Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $110,000.00 annually bonus benefits
