Description
APPLE INC has the following available in Austin, Texas. Responsible for component datasheet analysis and selection for schematic capture. Coordinate layout of highly constrained multilayer PCBs including HDI and fine pitch BGAs. Forecast and plan design time to meet constrained schedules. Drive design tradeoffs across manufacturing, test, thermal, performance, reliability, battery life, and electrical stakeholders. Prototype bring-up, debug, functional verification, and electrical characterization. Utilize advanced lab tools such as 25 GHz oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and BERT scopes to judge the quality and robustness of electrical designs. Analyze factory-scale data to adjust signal parameters for maximum margin. Review designs of factory test fixtures, ensuring manufacturing test plans, providing adequate coverage to ensure the design is assembled correctly. Debug problems found in manufacturing, feedback root cause and corrective action into design or manufacturing process in preparation for high volume. Communicate and present status on concurrent top issues and deadlines. Design subsystems with a hardware and software component to meet power sequencing and delivery requirements. Define and verify ethernet hardware requirements. Work with cross functional teams and the factory to resolve system-related issues in a timely manner. Domestic Travel Required 10%. 40 hours/week.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
Experience and/or education must include:
Circuit design for power subsystems
Circuit design for ethernet subsystems
Verify power integrity over a range of frequency and voltage ranges to ensure quality designs
Design and verify communication subsystems including I2C, SPI, SPMI, and UART
Perform failure analysis to solve complex technical issues Evaluate bill of materials to design for low cost and high quality
Use lab equipment including high speed oscilloscopes, DMMs, TDMs, and logic analyzers to take accurate and high-quality measurements for debug and hardware validation
Generate functional and test specifications, and verify the results
