Application Support Specialist Whippany

As a Barclays Application Support Specialist, you will provide systems administration, engineering and on-call production support for third party tools and applications hosted on premise and private cloud. You will work closely with security, infrastructure and platform teams to deliver world class security and resilience. You will also automate application upgrades and patches using DevOps tools

What will you be doing?

• You will be delivering 2nd Line Application Support services for application(s) under support • Being responsible for the build out of a Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Deployment (CD) pipeline with support from the DevOps leads • Maintaining system availability and supplementary services within SLA • You will be responsible for ongoing liaison with component teams for ensuring service availability • Taking responsibility for deployment and continuous integration

What we’re looking for:

• Excellent domain knowledge in banking / financial sector, a focus on Card Issuing, with an exposure to Agile • Delivery for large scale and complex real-time systems • Cloud Technologies such as AWS and / or RedHat OpenShift with orchestration / automation tools such as Jenkins and Chef • Knowledge on monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, Kibana, Netcool, ITRS Geneos

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Experience in writing and reading scripting, including Shell and PL/SQL scripts • Demonstrable experience working with databases, with a focus on NoSQL based native-cloud databases, such as MongoDB, Aerospike or Cassandra • Working knowledge on enterprise RDBMS databases such as Oracle and SQL Server • Excellent knowledge and experience with Network Technologies such as Load Balancers & Firewalls
