The Numbers team in Apple’s Visual Productivity Apps group is looking for an engineer to help build the future of iWork, Freeform, and other apps for visual creation.
Description
As an engineer on the Numbers team, you will contribute to exciting and powerful features in tables, charts, and spreadsheets that are used across Apple apps like Freeform, Keynote, Numbers, and Pages. Effective members of the Numbers team:
- Collaborate effectively with other engineers, human interface designers, and content producers to brainstorm, prototype, and ship new interactions and visual capabilities
- Bring a basic knowledge of computer science and Apple platform technologies like SwiftUI, and can stay up-to-date by reading papers and technical reports
- Make good use of documentation, IDEs, debuggers, and other tools in understanding the large code base. You’ll work to fix bugs and make architectural improvements that resist them.
- Face challenging and complex problems involving data sets with millions of rows and columns
- Keep the user in mind at all times, delighting them while supporting their best work
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of expeirence with SwiftUI, Swift, Objective-C
3+ years of experience building, analyzing, refining software prototypes
Demonstrated experience working in large industrial code bases
Experience creating and presenting demos to show to large and small audiences
Experience with performance tools such as profilers and optimization techniques
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Empathy for and understanding of user experience, and attention to visual detail
