DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our Distribution business in Scarborough, ME

In this role will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop

  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles

  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

  • Maintain own tools

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics

  • Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality

  • Demonstrates an understanding on access to engine repair process information sources.

  • Understands after-treatment system and can identify major components and their function at a rudimentary level.

  • Has worked on external components on a diesel engine and understands the basic concepts.

  • Has some knowledge of engine diagnostic software

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Education, Licenses, Certifications:

Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)

Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution

Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Minimal level of work shop experience required

Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A strong interest in learning about power generation systems

  • Curiosity about or basic familiarity with marine environments (we’ll provide training!)

  • Ability to identify issues and perform complete unit or chassis repairs

  • A commitment to working safely in confined spaces

  • A Class A driver’s license is a plus—but if you don’t have one, we’ll support you in obtaining it within 24 months

  • A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
