We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineering Program Manager to join our Data Platform team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the planning, execution, and delivery of data engineering and analytics solutions. You will collaborate closely with data engineers, data analysts, product managers, and stakeholders across the organization to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality data products and services. You will drive adoption of the data platform and equip engineering teams with robust data insights.

Description

As an Engineering Program Manager within the Data Platform team, you will play a critical role in enabling data-driven decision-making. You will oversee a platform responsible for secure data ingestion, storage, management, real-time and batch processing, data transformation, and analytics, among other critical functions. You will be responsible for managing complex projects related to data ingestion, processing, storage, and delivery, ensuring alignment with business needs and technical requirements. You will work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and driving continuous improvement in our data engineering and analytics processes. Your ability to communicate effectively, build strong relationships, and drive results will be essential to your success. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the organization by enabling access to reliable and insightful data. With a deep understanding of user needs, you’ll own complex challenges, exploring all facets of business opportunities, and connecting insights across roles and functions to drive innovative solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in engineering program management, with a focus on data engineering and/or analytics.

  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data modeling techniques.

  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Asana).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven track record of contributing to the successful delivery of data-related projects.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Experience participating in feedback loops with stakeholders.

  • Experience contributing to the definition and monitoring of key product metrics.

  • Master's degree in a related field.

  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka).

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Superset, Power BI).

  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.

  • Knowledge of data governance principles and practices.

  • Experience in automating data pipelines and infrastructure.

  • Familiarity with using OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) to drive clear, measurable product outcomes.

  • Ability to partner with product and engineering teams to translate user needs into actionable requirements.

  • Uses data and metrics to support assumptions and make informed recommendations.

  • Proactive and strategic problem-solving skills.
