Job Description

As an Associate Engineer in AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS), you’ll have opportunities to contribute to the digital transformation of a leading biopharma company, helping to create solutions that impact patients and their communities for the better.

This is a hybrid role based in Lake County, IL

Associate Engineer will have the challenge of solving complex technical problems that cannot be solved by Level 1. Engineers at Level 2/3 deal with escalated tickets that must be solved through high-level troubleshooting, ensuring that technical issues are addressed swiftly and accurately. The Associate Engineer role also includes working with the internal BTS team and clients to diagnose, analyze and solve problems related to hardware, software, and networks, specifically in the Mac Environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work as a key member of the Mac Engineering/Support team, providing expert support for Mac related Incidents and Service Requests.

  • Install, configure, and maintain Abbvie systems, applications, and peripheral equipment.

  • Manage and resolve escalated tickets from Level 1 support.

  • Coordinate with other BTS teams to ensure the stability and efficiency of BT infrastructure.

  • Assist/manage scheduled software deployments and updates.

  • Provide technical guidance and training to both end users and junior support staff.

  • Participate in regular review sessions with Mac Engineering and BT support teams to extend skills and capabilities across the organization.

  • Learn and effectively implement new methods and technologies.

  • Produces and maintains required technical documentation associated with work products.

  • Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies, including code of conduct, safety, GxP compliance, data security, and the software development lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience with Security tools on the Mac platform.

  • Expertise in diagnosing and resolving issues with Mac hardware, software, and applications.

  • In-depth knowledge of the Mac operating system, including its different versions, and iOS for Apple devices is crucial.

  • Knowledge of JAMF in a Level 2 capacity to support AbbVie managed Macs in the environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are vital for diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues.

  • The ability to build rapport and interact effectively with different personalities is important for customer service.

Salary: $58,656 - $100,500
