Summary

At Apple, we believe technology has the power to transform lives—and nowhere is this more evident than in our Health team. We are driven by a singular mission: to reimagine the future of health through groundbreaking innovations that empower individuals, enhance care delivery, and elevate well-being on a global scale.

We are looking for a Health Initiatives Lead who can drive initiatives at any stage—from early exploration through launch—and move to where business needs are greatest.

Description

The ideal candidate can drive work at any phase. They might own early exploration on one initiative—developing strategy, building pitches, getting projects resourced—then shift to own execution on another, becoming the accountable lead who drives delivery and ships. Or they might join mid-stream to take a resourced project through launch.

They adapt to the phase they're in. When exploring, they're patient and building consensus. When executing, they're decisive and driving closure. They know what each phase requires and can move between projects as business needs shift. The key accountabilities are:

During Exploration (Idea ? Resourced Project):
• Develop strategy and partnership concepts that connect technical & operational capability with consumer value
• Drive pitch development: business and market assessment, technical & operational feasibility, feature requirements, risk analysis
• Build consensus across engineering, design, operations, legal, privacy, clinical, executive, and external stakeholders
• Translate market opportunities and technical possibilities into compelling proposals
• Drive selected concepts through the resourcing process

During Execution (Resourced Project ? Launch):
• Single point of accountability for the working team and sponsor
• Own day-to-day program delivery: milestones, dependencies, blockers, resolution
• Make decisions through stakeholder consensus: scope tradeoffs, program risks, escalations
• Drive team clarity in cross-functional meetings and executive reviews
• Own risk mitigation and issue resolution
• Ensure the plan meets Apple's quality bar and understand holistically what's feasible to ship
• Where appropriate manage complexity of internal and external stakeholders, representing Apple requirements, technical feasibility.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 12+ years of experience in healthcare strategy and program development

  • Proven track record driving work at multiple phases—from early concept development through execution and launch

  • Experience building consensus and driving decisions across engineering, design, legal, privacy, clinical, and regulatory stakeholders

  • Deep understanding of the healthcare market globally—providers, payors, governments, digital technology solutions—and the clinical, operational, and regulatory realities that shape what's feasible to build

  • Deep knowledge of consumer health products, including digital health technologies, wearables, health services, or related ecosystems

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or equivalent experience

  • Track record moving between strategic and execution work depending on business need

  • Comfort driving work at any project phase—can pick up early exploration or jump into active execution

  • Ability to be the accountable owner when leading execution: the person who can be reached at any time and will have an answer or a plan

  • Experience making tough calls, managing trade-offs under constraint, and shipping high-quality products
