Description
As a Software Developer in Places Technology Services, you will provide your technical expertise through hands-on development to ensure that the applications we build are set up for long-term success. Our Software Developers work with a cross-functional team of Program Managers, Project Managers, Business Analysts, and other developers to holistically understand the needs of our business partners and empower them to be successful. You will need to be able to assess business requirements, estimate delivery times, and convert requirements into a technical development plan for applications that are in every stage of the application lifecycle. On a regular basis you will meet with your cross-functional team to track project progress - you will need to be able to communicate updates clearly to team members that are both technical and non-technical. You will need to identify risk and solve for issues as they arise to keep your projects on track.
Minimum Qualifications
0-2 years of experience (internships, bootcamps, or personal projects count).
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Basic understanding of JavaScript and willingness to learn TypeScript.
Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and how the web works.
Exposure to at least one frontend framework (React, Vue, or Svelte) through coursework or projects.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
Curiosity, enthusiasm, and a desire to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
Personal projects or portfolio demonstrating your skills.
Familiarity with Node.js or backend development concepts.
Basic understanding of databases and SQL.
Exposure to Git and version control workflows.
Understanding of web accessibility principles.
Contributions to open source projects.
Internship or co-op experience in software development.
