Description
Our sensing-based features are designed close to the silicon and firmware layers, and span across many platforms. We deliver end to end experiences in health and wellbeing, that require full stack systems software expertise from sensing and algorithms to the user interface. Our North Star is delivering the best possible feature for our customers with strong product definition and data-driven validation. Our software supports the design of data collection and prototyping apps to drive forward the science and development of sensing-based metrics like VO2max, crash detection and more.

Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science with at least 10 years of experience as software engineer, 5 years in a technical leadership role 
- Extensive experience with programming languages such as C++, Objective-C, Swift or SwiftUI 
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong and intuitive understanding of computer science fundamentals, and how to architect complex systems for embedded devices 
- Effective communication skills, written and verbal, and attention to detail 
- Prior experience machine learning (e.g. large language models, foundation models, CNNs, Bayesian methods, etc.) 
- Passion or experience with mentoring other team members 
- Passion for product definition, user experience, and being the first user for your own features 
- Prior experience with sensors, sensor fusion, fitness and health technologies is a big plus 
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $171,600 and $302,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
