DIRECTOR – Treasury – Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP)

This position resides within the Global Treasury organization and is responsible for AXP Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) forecasting, analysis, reporting, controls and continued methodology and process improvement. FTP includes Cost of Funds forecasting as well as Interest Expense and Equity allocation, analysis and reporting.

Primary Responsibilities Include leading a team responsible for:

  • AXP cost of funds forecasting: Ensure FTP outlooks are transparent and well-understood across multiple stakeholders. Coordinate with Finance teams on regular planning and forecasting cycles.

  • Create USD forecasts and coordinate with international Treasury teams to develop AXP total FTP forecast

  • Manage quarterly interest expense risk and opportunities analysis and communicate results the Treasurer and Finance Leadership Team

  • Coordinate across finance and business teams on interest expense and investment income forecasting and communicate results to broader finance organization

  • Compliance with Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) guidance: Support compliance of regulatory FTP guidance, including optimization of governance, controls, and reporting

  • Report and analyze FTP, cost of funds and equity allocation results and forecasts, for both U.S. and international markets, impacting all AXP’s business segments.

  • Create Cost of Carry forecast and allocations for AXP’s liquidity portfolio

  • Partnering with treasury, finance, and technology teams to enhance existing processes by transitioning to finance systems and more sophisticated reporting tools

  • Maintain and enhance procedure/methodologies documentation

  • Equity Allocation: Manage the rules and reporting to allocate equity to business segments and lines of business within AXP.

  • Completing ad hoc analysis such as scenario planning for finance and business partners as market conditions evolve

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7 years Finance/Treasury experience

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or related field is required.

  • Inclusive people leader who can develop and manage high performing team

  • Able to manage multiple priorities effectively with a record of driving results.

  • An analytical mindset coupled with acute attention to detail, strong process management skills, and ability to challenge the status quo and drive process improvements.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to analyze financial problems, synthesize complex topics and present findings in a clear, compelling manner.

  • Strong collaboration and project management skills, can influence others to drive results outside of direct reporting line

  • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of technology platforms such as Oracle Management Reporting tools, TM1 and reporting tools preferred

  • Prior experience and understanding of the capital markets and risk management principles is a plus.

  • Graduate degree or CFA Charter is a plus.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
