Summary
At Apple, great ideas have a way of becoming great products, services, and customer experiences.
We are seeking an experienced Narrative Designer to shape how complex ideas move through the organization—transforming ambiguity into clarity and insight into actionable stories. You’ll join the Services Design team within a fast-paced, highly cross-functional environment.?
The ideal candidate has a passion for complex problem spaces and excels at crafting compelling narratives that engage internal audiences, reveal systemic insight, and drive alignment across teams.
Description
As a Narrative Designer, you will be responsible for leading the development of high-impact narratives that bring projects into focus, anchor them with a clear sense of purpose, and guide teams toward shared understanding. Your work will include identifying and articulating seen and unseen challenges, shaping problem statements, collaborating with teams to define success criteria, and designing narrative artifacts that support product strategy and decision-making. Deliverables may include executive keynotes, internal frameworks, prototypes, or conceptual decks—mediums are selected in service of message.
You are a confident and adaptive presenter, comfortable engaging executive leadership and facilitating real-time discussions that navigate ambiguity and complexity.
You bring deep craft in one or more of the following areas: branding, visual design, product strategy, or writing—and you can fluidly integrate these practices to produce narrative coherence.
You collaborate by listening, synthesizing, and asking generative questions. Your curiosity is active, helping uncover underlying patterns and translating them into compelling structures and forms.
You are energized by ambiguity, flexible under pressure, and precise under deadlines. You are a strong systems thinker with the ability to identify meaningful connections across products, teams, and initiatives—bringing narrative consistency to a highly dynamic organizational context.
You work seamlessly across disciplines and establish trust with teams in Design, Engineering, Production, and Product Marketing. You are medium-agnostic and tailor your expression to context—whether written, visual, spatial, or experiential.
You have an affinity for detail: typographic rhythm, pacing, iconography, tone. And you understand when to let form recede to elevate message.
You explore unexpected formats and narrative structures when the message demands it.
You navigate ambiguity with autonomy and clarity, balancing independent execution with collaborative iteration.
Minimum Qualifications
8+ years of experience in branding, product, or communication design.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, including real-time facilitation and executive engagement.

Preferred Qualifications
Ability to communicate concepts through sketches and/or prototypes.
Experience working closely with highly skilled designers to bring concepts to life.
Enthusiasm for an iterative design process, inspired by group critique.
Able to function independently and in a team environment, with excellent collaboration skills.
Previous experience working in branding, marketing and/or art direction is highly recommended.
A deep understanding of the Apple design aesthetic, UI, and history.
A passion for Apple, its products, and its customers is a requirement.
