Amex Digital Labs is responsible for catalyzing digital innovation at American Express by originating, incubating, and managing emerging products and platforms that can be essential to our customers’ digital lives. We strive to emphasize creativity, customer centricity, and innovation. The Global Digital Payments & Partnerships team is a high impact group within Amex Digital Labs responsible for launching, managing, and expanding new digital payments products and partnerships, including Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, Meta, and other emerging players in the space.
Role Description:
As Senior Manager, you will lead the global Google Pay partnership. You will own senior-level partner relationships, lead major contract and expansion negotiations, develop the overall partnership strategies, and oversee the go-to-market planning for new products and experiences. You will collaborate extensively with the Digital Labs Product and Product Enablement teams and a broad range of internal and external stakeholders across Strategic Partnerships, Marketing, Network, and Legal, among others. You will also serve as a global advisor to the local market teams where Amex is live with partner digital wallets today and support the overall payments innovation strategy for Digital Labs.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead the global relationship with Google PayDevelop and adapt partnership/go to market strategies to meet AXP goals in the rapidly evolving digital payments landscapeEffectively establish, manage, and grow relationships with partners and other key players in the digital payments space
Lead Google Pay, Google Chrome, and other partner business operations; collaborate with product, enablement, and network teams on the development of new products, experiences, and market expansionsIdentify new business opportunities, negotiate new and expanded strategic partnerships, and obtain internal alignment from senior level key stakeholders
Coordinate with advertising, marketing, PR, and international colleagues to maximize the impact of new launches
Keep abreast of the evolving digital payments landscape to identify new partnership opportunities, drive the strategic roadmap of existing partnerships, and monitor the competition
Minimum Qualifications:
Strong partner manager and negotiator with the ability to quickly adapt in a rapidly evolving space
3-5 years of strategic partnerships, business development, or partner management experience
Exceptional interpersonal, communication and influencing skills with the ability to work with stakeholders across different functions, colleagues at all levels, and with partners
Ability to think strategically and creatively to develop winning digital payment product and platform strategies
Creative thinker who can collaborate with product and partner teams to brainstorm and use design thinking to develop compelling consumer experiences that also drive AXP goals
Strong program management skills to lead end-to-end partnership delivery across key stakeholder teams
Exceptional skill in driving results against aggressive timelines, managing multiple priorities, and ensuring flawless execution
A self-starter with an ability to excel in a dynamic, ever-changing environment and to switch gears as required
Bachelor's Degree required, MBA a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
Quantitative analytical skills to model customer adoption and usage and assess financial/business impact of partnershipsStrong understanding of consumer behavior and digital trends across categories.
Desire to work on dynamic, innovative and evolving initiatives in the digital, mobile and alternatives payments space
Expertise in mobile and working with technical and product development teams is a plus
Qualifications
Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
