Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Work cross-functionally with system architects, electrical engineers, battery engineers, and system software. Invent new system power management algorithms under tight batter power delivery constraints. Explore novel battery management solutions. Design, implement, and optimize system software and embedded firmware. Demonstrate and explain cross functionally system power/performance trade-offs. Influence hardware design specifications of future platforms to deliver a roadmap of innovative software solutions to very challenging system problems. Triage and debug any issues in the power management software. Enhance Software architecture to scale across different product architectures. Use analytics to understand the impact of algorithms and improve current solutions. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 - $272,100/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering or a related field.

  • Experience and/or education must include:

  • Utilizing C++ programming to implement algorithms needed for power management.

  • Developing device drivers in C for building HW/SW interactions.

  • Utilizing object oriented programming including C++, Java to develop scalable software.

  • Using Python (or similar scripting languages) to help automation and testing.

  • Utilizing Embedded Systems programming to design power management software.

  • Utilizing real time operating systems concepts (RTOS) (including iOS/macOS/Linux) to build robust Software.

  • Battery Management in embedded devices.

  • Utilizing unit testing to deliver high quality software.

  • Using version control tools including GIT to help with code version management.

  • Using tools including Tableau for data analysis to analyze algorithms.
