Summary

We are seeking a skilled systems engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated security vulnerability detection and remediation systems. This role combines software engineering expertise with security domain knowledge to build scalable automation and AI-driven solutions, directly impacting the protection of billions of users across a growing product ecosystem.

Description

You will join an intrepid team of engineers and partners building the future of Apple Product Security! Your role will focus on some of our most ambitious security automation efforts.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for a mixture of our core work: assessing security vulnerabilities, along with tool development to optimize our business operations. This will include contributions to our tool suite which supports our external security submission portal, our triage and routing tools, and our AI frameworks which power operations in security engineering and across Apple

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity or related technical field, or equivalent industry experience

  • Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages (Python, Swift, or C/C++) for building robust security automation systems

  • Familiarity with common AI capabilities, such as function calling, and their application to security use cases

  • Experience with production deployment using containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools

  • Proven ability to analyze and investigate security issues through systematic approaches and tooling

  • Understanding of security principles including vulnerability classes, exploit techniques, and common attack vectors

  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating across diverse technical teams and stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing or leveraging security tools such as fuzzers, static/dynamic analyzers, or vulnerability management platforms

  • Field experience in vulnerability research, incident response, or security operations

  • Track record of shipping tools to large user bases in enterprise environments

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
