Apple Hardware Operations is seeking a Customer Success ECAD engineer to support, train, and customize the methodologies, vendor tools, workflows, and custom applications utilized in the creation of electrical designs and their subsequent fabrication. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the multi-functional hardware engineering teams to address design challenges and provide guidance on engineering best practices. They will contribute to a diverse range of initiatives and projects aimed at enhancing the engineering environment and fostering a more knowledgeable engineering workforce.
Description
Primary responsibilities:
• Support hardware engineering staff through its component, printed circuit board (PCB), fabrication and simulation workflows
• Identify, triage and debug PCB, DFM tool and workflow related issues
• Develop and deliver training on best practices with regards to PCB design, verification and manufacturing workflows
• Identify and generate workflow requirements and best practices
• Collaborate with customers to gather requirements and development team to deliver enhancements and solutions
• Leverage AI/ML techniques to facilitate everyday work and solve engineering challenges
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent (Computer/Electrical Engineering) with 2 or more years of relevant industry experience
Knowledge with PCB Design, and manufacturing
At least 5 years working with ECAD design tools and workflows
At least 3 years developing and delivering training
Proficiency with Linux and shell scripting
Preferred Qualifications
Software:
Advanced knowledge of Cadence software for PCB design
Knowledge of the complete HW design process from library creation to schematic, PCB design and signal analysis flow
Knowledge of MCAD workflows would be a bonus
Some knowledge of Cadence Sigirty or similar simulation tools
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, Perforce)
Some Knowledge of Frontline Instack and Valor
Technical:
Extensive understanding of PCB fabrication processes and constraints
Proficiency with Linux and shell scripting
Some Experience with scripting languages, such as Python, JavaScript or TCL
Some Experience with SKILL language would be a plus
Experience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA Compass and Confluence
Understanding of signal integrity, PDN design and thermal management techniques for PCBs.
Experience developing and presenting trainings
Familiarity with fundamental AI/ML concepts, including LLMs, supervised or unsupervised learning, neural networks and prompt engineering
Some experience applying AI/ML techniques to solve engineering problems
Problem-solving:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to identify, triage and debug technical design issues, arriving at root cause
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with an ability to work with different stakeholders operating at various skill levels
Thrives in a dynamic work environment, both independently and as a part of a team
Shown ability to work independently while using sound technical and business judgement.
