The people here at Apple don’t just create products - they create the kind of wonder that’s revolutionized entire industries. It’s the diversity of those people and their ideas that inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do, from amazing technology to industry-leading environmental efforts.

Apple's WW Logistics team is seeking an innovative and results-oriented Manager to lead our Global Freight Desk and Freight Audit functions. This critical role involves managing a global team of logistics specialists responsible for the worldwide movement of non-finished goods or service unit shipments, ensuring optimal cost and on-time performance. Concurrently, you will oversee a team dedicated to the accurate and timely payment of all freight bills. We are looking for a leader with deep expertise in both transportation and audit, capable of implementing robust management systems, driving continuous improvement through clear KPIs, and leveraging cutting-edge technologies for efficiency and streamlining.

Description

WW Freight Desk & Freight Audit manager will play a pivotal role in optimizing Apple's global logistics operations. This position requires a dynamic leader who can effectively manage and inspire a diverse, global team across two distinct yet interconnected functions.

The Freight Desk team orchestrates the end-to-end movement of non-finished goods or service units worldwide. This involves close collaboration with Apple's strategic freight forwarders and their control towers to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and on-time delivery of critical materials and services. Your leadership will ensure strong vendor management practices and seamless cross-functional support to various Apple teams.

The Freight Audit team safeguards the financial integrity of our freight expenditures. This involves managing specialists who work diligently with third-party freight audit providers, carriers, forwarders, and internal procurement, finance, and operations teams to verify billing accuracy and facilitate timely payments.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, capable of developing and implementing world-class management systems, establishing clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. A keen understanding of emerging technologies in logistics and a passion for leveraging them to drive efficiencies and innovation are essential. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on Apple's global supply chain and operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS in supply chain, logistics, analytics or related field and 10+ years of experience in global logistics, transportation management, or supply chain operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.

  • Demonstrated expertise in both transportation operations (e.g., freight forwarding, carrier management, global shipping) and freight audit processes.

  • Proven experience managing and developing teams.

  • Strong vendor management skills, with a track record of successfully managing strategic carrier and forwarder relationships.

  • Experience in developing, implementing, and managing operational systems and KPIs to drive performance and continuous improvement.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and collaborating effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA/MS in BA/BS in supply chain, logistics, analytics or related field

  • Proven experience managing and developing global teams, ideally across different time zones and cultures.
