DESCRIPTION

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Technical Support : Provide essential health and safety guidance to production and site personnel, ensuring compliance and safety.

HSE Management Systems : Assist in the implementation, analysis, review, and sustainability of Health & Safety Management Systems, enhancing overall site safety.

Gap Analysis : Identify gaps within corporate health and safety initiatives and local policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, driving continuous improvement.

HSE Culture : Build and apply a strong understanding of HSE culture, integrating it into daily processes and fostering a safer work environment.

Incident Reporting : Report any work-related injury, illness, incident, or hazard through internal processes, providing guidance and ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

Training and Risk Assessment : Support hazard identification, incident investigation, and risk assessment processes, including delivering training to enhance safety awareness.

Emergency Response : Support the implementation and maintenance of Emergency Response processes, including training delivery, ensuring preparedness for emergencies.

Quality and Teamwork : Follow standard work, process documentation, and quality procedures, while communicating effectively with the team to improve quality, safety, and employee development.

Your role is crucial in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of safety and teamwork.

*Education, Licenses, Certifications: *

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations. 

A two-year University degree in Industrial Safety or related field preferred. 

*Experience: *

Prefer significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience in health and safety.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information:

Documents and maintains departmental policies and procedures 

Participates as a team member on related business improvement assignments and projects as needed 

Partners with customers, facilities, contractors and others to provide project management, design, quotes, scheduling, and coordination for facility-related projects 

Coordinates with facilities management to schedule work and special projects for the assigned facility 

Works with corporate indirect purchasing to understand supplier base, consolidate suppliers, put appropriate contacts into place, and negotiate cost reductions with suppliers to the facility; maintains relationships with various suppliers and vendors of services provided to the facility 

Performs other routine administrative activities as requested by management

Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience in Health and Safety. 

Excellent communication skills needed with ability to interact within all levels of the Organization (local and Corporate) and external stakeholders with a focus on delivering results and continuous improvement.

Solid knowledge of safety protocols, proficiency in Microsoft applications preferred.

Ideal candidate will be detail-oriented with the ability to thrive in fast-paced environment, multi-task, take ownership and drive a project/task effectively and efficiently
