The Colleague Product and Program Management (CPPM) organization within the Colleague Experience Group (also known as Human Resources) at American Express plays a critical role in providing the best-in-class services, capabilities, data and insights that enable a great colleague experience. The organization builds and evolves essential foundational and operational products and services to enable Colleague Experience Group (CEG) and the business. The CPPM organization manages the ecosystem of CEG platforms, applications, third party partners, colleague insights and reporting, and colleague-related risk, compliance and governance.

The CEG Data Product team is hiring an Associate, Digital Product Management to actively support the data and analytics product team. This person will be responsible for contributing to the data product strategy & data platform modernization to unlock valuable colleague data for American Express systems & colleagues.

We are looking for someone to help build new data capabilities to support the enterprise in creating more efficient reporting, analytics, and data access. The person taking this role will contribute to defining new data capability development, ideation, piloting new capabilities and building new partnerships.

Primary responsibilities

  • Assist in developing the overall vision for how data can drive the overall colleague experience, colleague insights, & colleague servicing

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams in tech, product, systems and stakeholders’ teams to gather and document requirements.

  • Uncover opportunities to gather colleague feedback and leverage this to continually improve effectiveness of the strategy and roadmap

  • Assist in identifying, supporting, piloting and launching new functionalities and service-oriented technologies in support of the data strategy

  • Develop new ideas into proofs of concept that can be integrated for testing and learning

  • Embrace different approaches and new technologies to drive individualized, contextual experiences

  • Support key performance indicators for the business, including maintaining and increasing efficiency and satisfaction levels

  • Participate fully in program increment planning to coordinate with other teams on the prioritization of initiatives

Key qualifications are:

  • Demonstrated experience with innovative thinking, idea generation and developing new products from the ground up

  • A passion for data & analytics and how they can be applied to drive great experiences

  • Curiosity to know how things work and ability to use that knowledge to make connections and find opportunities for innovation

  • A resilient, positive attitude

  • Experience delivering both small initiatives

  • Data-driven mindset, able to use data effectively to define hypotheses, as well as make informed product decisions when data may be unavailable

  • Experience with data, analytics, and digital product development

  • Experience with Agile and SAFe - Preferred

  • Experience as a Product Manager/Owner (or related role), with a high level of comfort working with technology teams and partners - Preferred

  • Preferred, but not required, Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering

Qualifications

Salary Range: $60,000.00 to $110,000.00 annually bonus benefits
