We are seeking a skilled systems engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated security vulnerability detection and remediation systems. This role combines software engineering expertise with security domain knowledge to build scalable automation and AI-driven solutions, directly impacting the protection of billions of users across a growing product ecosystem.
Description
You will join an intrepid team of engineers and partners building the future of Apple Product Security! Your role will focus on some of our most ambitious security automation efforts, and in that capacity you will:
Design and develop AI-powered security vulnerability detection, analysis, and remediation tools including automated scanners and exploit analysis systems
Build innovative automation frameworks (like Interlinked) to discover security bugs, triage vulnerabilities, and scale security operations across platforms
Adapt cutting-edge AI capabilities to critical security use cases, including: function calling, anomaly detection, and intelligent vulnerability prioritization
Collaborate cross-functionally with security researchers, engineering teams, and peer tech leads to integrate these solutions into existing workflows and drive AI adoption
Deliver high-quality production tools using modern deployment practices (Kubernetes, Docker) while maintaining exceptional standards for security-critical systems
Minimum Qualifications
Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages (Python, Swift, or C/C++) for building robust security automation systems
Familiarity with common AI capabilities, such as function calling, and their application to security use cases
Experience with production deployment using containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools
Proven ability to analyze and investigate security issues through systematic approaches and tooling
Understanding of security principles including vulnerability classes, exploit techniques, and common attack vectors
Excellent communication skills for collaborating across diverse technical teams and stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing or leveraging security tools such as fuzzers, static/multifaceted analyzers, or vulnerability management platforms
Field experience in vulnerability research, incident response, or security operations
Track record of shipping tools to large user bases in enterprise environments
EDUCATION
BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity or related technical field, or equivalent proven experience
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $220,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
