Apple's Audio and Media Technologies group (AMT) provides the media foundation for all of Apple's innovative products, including iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated software engineer to join our team.
We develop the technology inside iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS that powers real-time media streaming features that help people stay connected. Our team is responsible for the ultra-low latency media streaming technology powering FaceTime, Call Continuity, Screen Sharing, Continuity Camera, HomeKit Secure Video, and more!

Description

We are looking for a skilled engineer to develop software for real-time audio pipelines — for example, transmitting audio from one device’s microphone, over the network, to another device’s speaker. As a real-time audio software engineer in this role, you will be responsible for developing new features, writing unit tests, analyzing and optimizing performance, and identifying opportunities to enhance the media experience.

Minimum Qualifications

  • You write elegant and maintainable object-oriented code in Objective-C, C, or C++.

  • You have excellent attention to detail.

  • You are highly motivated, self-directed, and a fast learner with strong communication skills.

  • You have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or have equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in multi-threaded development

  • Experience with real-time audio stacks

  • Experience with voice over IP

  • Experience with test-driven software development
