How will you make an impact in this role?
This role will develop credit loss models for estimating CECL credit reserves for US portfolios, which feeds into AXP credit provision calculation and reporting. The role will play an important role in improving model accuracy, strengthening model governance, and quantifying reserves for emerging credit risks. The role also partners closely with Risk Finance, Controllership, Data Strategy and MRMG teams, on all aspects of credit reserve modeling and analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
This person is expected to work on CFR Global Decision Science and is responsible for:
Development of modeling framework to meet the credit reserve standards set by the Financial Accounting and Standards Boards (FASB) and the International Accounting Standards Boards (IASB).
Development and enhancement of loss forecasting models for credit and charge card portfolios.
Perform quantitative analysis to evaluate multiple alternatives to generate insights and derive recommendations.
Ongoing performance tracking of loss forecasting models and variance analysis of credit reserve levels.
Experience and Background:
The successful candidate should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a tremendous will to win.
Fluency with data manipulation tools like Python, PySpark or SQL plus experience in data-driven decision making strongly preferred
Previous model development experience is desirable.
Ability to apply advanced statistical and/or other quantitative techniques to solve business problems.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are a plus.
Ability to work with cross-function teams to solve complex business problems
Advanced quantitative degree is preferred
Qualifications
Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
