About Network & Acquiring Solutions
As part of the Global Merchant & Network Services group (GMNS), the Network & Acquiring Solutions (NAS) team is at the core of American Express, uniquely positioned to support every business unit and customer across the Enterprise. The American Express Network enables over $1.6 trillion in annual spend, serving our Issuers and Acquirers in more than 170 markets worldwide. We are driving a strategic, multi-year Enterprise Payments program to bring all payments together into a center of excellence to drive operational excellence for payment execution, enable innovative payment products, services, and capabilities to be built effectively and efficiently, support our BU strategies more closely, and deliver on our customers’ evolving payment needs.
About the Role
The NAS organization has been building a program to drive more efficiency and productivity to how we develop, deliver and deploy products and capabilities.
This newly created role of Associate, Product & Business Operations is an exciting opportunity to contribute and support in creating quality & control processes across NAS to drive better risk management strategies. These processes will bring best practices and connect the dots across the organization with an aim of ensuring we “Do It The Right Way” through risk control that is integrated in our product development and management strategies and day-to-day work. The incumbent will be an integral contributor to champion efforts in designing and implementing processes for stronger risk management across key activities and programs across NAS, in conjunction with Control Management & GMNS stakeholders.
The successful candidate will support and drive outcomes for improving product risk management across NAS. This role is ideal for someone who has strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and quality control. This is an opportunity to join a high-impact team, drive consistency, analysis, report trends, understand and implement processes whilst immersing themselves in the complexity of the business and its varied interactions with the wider Blue Box.
How will you make an impact in this role?
The role will be based in our New York City office and focus on the following main objectives:
Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify and document opportunities for process enhancements and monitor key processes across NAS to help increase agility and sustained improvements.
Conduct Analyses: Lead root cause analyses of gaps and quality issues; partner with cross-functional teams to recommend preventive actions for quality and control enhancement.
Ensure Quality and Effectiveness: Develop, maintain, and update quality control checklists, dashboards, and performance reports and trends.
Lead Reporting of Key Metrics: Track and report key quality metrics, trends, and emerging risks.
Support Strategic Initiatives: Partner with team to develop & execute programs across NAS to support Project Guardian workstreams. Lead the creation of business processes, workflows, and controls to ensure consistency, standardization, and best practices.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability for problem-solving, gap analysis, ability to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
High attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing extensive information, complex spreadsheets and other reporting materials.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and interpret pivot tables, lookups, and formulae to analyze and summarize large data/information.
Excellent project management skills, with proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of quality assurance principles, internal controls, with experience supporting compliance and audits is preferred.
Proactive mindset with a drive for continuous improvement and process efficiency.
Qualifications
Salary Range: $65,500.00 to $102,500.00 annually bonus benefits
