Membership Portfolio Services, within our US Consumer Services Business, is responsible for developing and scaling several growing businesses that are strategically important to American Express. We are developing unique and differentiated ways to strengthen the Membership Model across Amex Offers, Advertising, Dining and Marketing Technology.

The Enterprise Comms & MarTech Experiences (ECMX) team is a global organization that sits within Membership Portfolio Services (MPS). It is American Express’ marketing services center of excellence with the charter of powering high quality, efficient, user-centric digital marketing experiences that accelerate business growth through optimized enterprise MarTech & MarOps solutions.

You will be joining ECMX’s MarTech organization, focused on providing frictionless, flexible, and flawless marketing and servicing experiences.

Reporting to the Vice President, Digital Product Transformation & Planning, this new role will be responsible for defining the long-term vision for our next generation AI and Agentic Marketing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Define the AI strategy for marketing technology, including a 2–3-year roadmap that aligns with enterprise priorities and evolving technology trends

  • Partner with Product Development, Marketing, and Technology teams to identify, validate, and prioritize high-impact AI use cases across the marketing ecosystem including use cases for enterprise tools like LLM agents, vibe coding

  • Evaluate and recommend best-in-class AI capabilities and vendor solutions, leading the due diligence and governance process to onboard external partners

  • Lead financial modelling for sizing impact of use cases and tracking value realization and performance metrics

  • Champion AI fluency and adoption across MPS, developing training and enablement programs that build capability and confidence in using AI tools

  • Lead change management and new ways of working related to AI adoption, in partnership with Marketing Operations, Marketing, and Product teams

  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders in Marketing, Technology, Risk, Legal, and Compliance to ensure compliance and scalability

  • Monitor external trends in AI, GenAI, and marketing innovation, and incorporate insights into Amex’s strategy and roadmap decisions

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strategic, big-picture thinker with deep understanding of AI, GenAI, and marketing technology ecosystems

  • Proven experience translating emerging technologies into practical applications and business value

  • Strong business acumen and creativity in identifying opportunities for new capabilities, tools, or experiences

  • Demonstrated ability to drive transformation across functions, balancing strategic vision with operational rigor

  • Strong stakeholder management and consultative skills, with a track record of influencing senior leaders

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and engage in structured thinking in order derive meaningful, data-driven insights

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to simplify complex concepts and bridge business and technical conversations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5–7 years in management consulting, strategy, or innovation roles with exposure to marketing or technology

  • Minimum 3–4 years of people leadership experience

  • Comfortable working in an environment with tight deadlines and managing through making decisions with imperfect information

Qualifications

Salary Range: $144,250.00 to $256,250.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
