The Video Engineering Team at Apple is responsible for developing the core image and video technologies used in virtually all Apple products and services. We're responsible for developing algorithms and frameworks for image and video processing, implementing features for high dynamic range video (HDR) and stereo video, and creating future video standards. You will work on the video/image subsystem, feature development, performance optimization, and power optimization on various innovative systems.
Description
You will be assigned to lead and develop video processing algorithms and software features in collaboration with multiple teams. You will also work on prototyping features for future products and design, improve and maintain the software infrastructure across multiple platforms, and write and improve new testing tools. Multi-functional collaboration is key aspect of this role, along with a strong team spirit. This position requires a highly self-directed individual with strong creative and analytical skills, and a passion for applying deep learning technologies in video processing and low-level vision tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant experience
Strong problem-solving abilities
Experience in evaluating the visual quality of videos and images using objective metrics and subjective techniques
Validated programming skills and proficiency in C/C++ programming
Familiarity with artificial intelligence methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in video post-processing algorithms, including tone mapping, gamut remapping, and scaling
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, along with strong collaborative abilities
Experience in image and video generation applying artificial intelligence techniques
Knowledge of various HDR video processing technologies, color science and 3D vision
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
